Improving Medical Education in Syria

In light of the current suffering of our beloved country Syria, the brain drain and the drop out of a lot of students, weakened the capacity of the current medical educational system to meet the necessary education needs, and from the firm belief of the Syrian Expatriate Medical Association- SEMA -in the importance of the medical educational process and to keep up with the latest updates in the field”, SEMA holds its first annual conference under the theme “Excelling with education” from 21 to 23 June 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. The conference will be attended by a number of elite national and international medical competencies.

In light of the current suffering of our beloved country Syria, the brain drain and the drop out of a lot of students, weakened the capacity of the current medical educational system to meet the necessary education needs, and from the firm belief of the Syrian Expatriate Medical Association- SEMA -in the importance of the medical educational process and to keep up with the latest updates in the field”, SEMA holds its first annual conference under the theme “Excelling with education” from 21 to 23 June 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey. The conference will be attended by a number of elite national and international medical competencies.

The conference will include several valuable medical lectures, activities and events, in addition to a specialized workshop in the field of medical education.

The conference will also present several medical education projects, including the project of establishing SEMA Center for Medical Education and Training, which aims to qualify medical staff and raise the standards of medical education in Syria. The building will extend over 475 square meters and will consist of 4 floors, including a lecture hall, classrooms, administrative offices, sanitary facilities and students’ dormitory.
